Regarding prolongation of the trade marks registration
of the Republic of Lithuania

On the January 1, 2001, the Law on Trade Marks of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter referred to as the Law) came into force, which has been passed in October 10, 2000 No. VIII - 1981 (Zin., 2000, No. 92-2844).

Following this Law we are informing you that in the year of 2001 expires the determined 10 years registration validity term for the trade marks for which the applications to the State Patent Bureau (hereinafter referred to as SPB) have been presented in 1991, according to the valid legal acts of that time.

The current functions of the ALCCIC administration

Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (ALCCIC) is a voluntary union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts. In fact the Association represents national interests of the local Chambers. The current functions of ALCCIC administration are as follows: 

  • co-ordinates the activities of the Chambers in formulating the general strategy for the institutional development of Chamber system;
  • formulates the overall strategy for the international economic co-operation;
  • represents the Chambers in their contacts with Governmental institutions and organisations;
  • represents the Chambers in their contacts with foreign Governmental institutions and foreign legal entities;
  • prepares and passes proposals to the Government of Lithuania as well as to other governmental institutions on the issues of the economic development of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • in charge of the issue of ATA CARNET's under the International Convention on the Temporary Admission of Goods;
  • represents the Chambers at the trade fairs, conferences, other international events;
  • issues the numbers (bar codes) for goods and articles (EAN - Lithuania);
  • in charge of maintenance of Trade (Business) Register in the Republic of Lithuania as well as other business related datum bases;
  • co-ordinates issue of the Export and Business Directory in co-operation with local Chambers.
