The Survey Of Kaunas M.K.Ciurlionis Lions Club Activity

The Club, which was founded on May 18, 1996, has chosen the main direction of its activities that correspond to the mission of the Lionism movement. One of them is the support to those who are in need. Since the second year of the Club establishment, we provide support to Munickiai Home for the Elderly: we have financed the purchase of some necessary equipment and facilities; also, we have given some concerts and a few parties with refreshments.

Another object of our care is Kaunas School for the Blind and Visually Challenged. For three years now we have been organizing a charity concert "I want to see the spring" as a joint effort activity with the Second Club of Lions in Kaunas. The donations and charity to the event are given to the school, and since the last year donations go to the Eye Cornea Bank.

In addition we take care of one of families with many children supporting them with clothes and food, also visiting them with presents for different holidays

Our activities include finding sponsorship for the disabled youth camps.

We have organized quite a few campaigns such as donating for the renovation of the House of M.K.Ciurlionis in Druskininkai; buying audiocassettes for Kaunas Outreach Centre of the Lithuanian library for the Blind; helping individual people who are disabled; contributing to different cultural events and contests.

The Club is able to continue its activities only thanks to the Italian and French godparents support and help. Their constant financial support, advice and suggestions we receive during their visits to Lithuania enable the Club to communicate with veterans and active members of other clubs that have a substantial experience in their activities
