Akmenė is a city in northern Lithuania.

Town became famous when geologists found large reserves of limestone and clay there and in 1947 construction work was begun on one of the biggest cement production complexes in the Baltic States. Nearby, a new town grew which was to become the region’s administrative centre: Naujoji Akmenė (literally means the New Akmenė).

Alytus is a city with municipal rights in southern Lithuania. It is the capital of Alytus County. Its population in 2007 was 68,835. Alytus is the historical centre of the Dzūkija region. The city lies on the banks of the Nemunas River.

Divided onto two separate entities for centuries, it consists of two parts still frequently referred to as Alytus I and Alytus II, the earlier being a smaller town and the latter forming the city centre with parks, microdistricts and industrial areas.

Anykščiai is a ski resort town in Lithuania, 20 miles west of Utena.[1] The Roman Catholic Church of St. Matthias in Anykščiai is the tallest church in Lithuania, with spires measuring 79 meters in height. The city has a football club FK Anykščiai.

Birštonas is a spa town in Lithuania situated on Nemunas River. Birštonas received its city rights 1529, and was appointed a city in 1966.

Birštonas is known for its mineral water. This water is used by sanatoriums for mineral water pools and baths. Both sanatoriums offers halotherapy, therapeutic mud bathes, mineral water pools, baths, massages, and wide range of curative procedures. Birštonas also has hotels and country farmsteads, adapted for rural tourism. Local attractions include Vytautas hill, where a Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytautas had his hunting mansion, two museums, promenade a path near Neman River. Birštonas is one of few Lithuanian resorts.

Biržai is a city in northern Lithuania. Biržai is famous for its reconstructed Biržai Castle manor, and the whole region is renowned for its many traditional-recipe beer breweries.

The northern part of the city, together with Lake Širvėna, belong to the Biržai Regional Park. The area is spotted with over 2000 sinkholes, which form suddenly when the land's high gypsum content is dissolved by underground water. Some of these holes are dry, while others have become small ponds or lakes filled with water from the many underground rivers and streams.

Druskininkai is the largest resort in Lithuania, located in the south of the country, 120 km from Vilnius and Kaunas. The resort is famous for its old sanatorium treatment traditions, wonderful nature and rapidly developing tourism services infrastructure. The resort has long been famous for its mineral waters and curative mud, which currently are combined with modern technologies and have a great value for health services. Druskininkai is the international resort for active recreation and treatment, which is aimed at the wide spectrum entertainment industry with its highly developed modern service infrastructure.

Eišiškės is a city in southeastern Lithuania on the border with Belarus. It is situated on a small group of hills, surrounded by marshy valley of Verseka and Dumblė Rivers. Rivers divide the town into two parts; the northern part is called Jurzdika. As of January 2008, Eišiškės had a population of 3,610. It has a small hospital and two high schools (one for Polish and another for Lithuanian students).

Elektrėnai is a city of about 14,000 inhabitants in Lithuania; since 2000 it is the capital of the Elektrėnai municipality. It is conveniently situated between the two largest cities in Lithuania – Vilnius and Kaunas. Elektrėnai Lagoon and the power plant Elektrėnai is one of the newest towns of Lithuania, having been established during the Soviet times as the living space for workers of the nearby power plant. The town, however, is close to Elektrėnai Lagoon, an artificial lake that was created in order to cool down the Elektrėnai power plant. The water is several degrees warmer than water at the other nearby lakes.

Gelgaudiškis is a city in the Šakiai district municipality, Lithuania. It is located 15 km (9.3 mi) north of Šakiai. The city is just south of Neman River.

Ignalina is a city in eastern Lithuania, famous for the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant in nearby Visaginas. It is said that Ignalina name got its name from Ignas and Lina, two lovers with quite popular Lithuanian names. Even though there are archeological evidences that people lived in Ignalina area in the Stone Age, Ignalina was mentioned only in 1810. However, nowadays it is known more as a tourist destination in the Aukštaitija National Park.

Jonava is the 9th largest city in Lithuania with a population around 35,000.

Joniškėlis is city in the Pasvalys district municipality, Lithuania. It is located 17 km (11 mi) west of Pasvalys.

Joniškis is a city in northern Lithuania with a population of about 11,150. It is located 40 kilometers north of Šiauliai and 14 kilometers south of the Lithuania–Latvia border. Joniškis is also the municipal and administrative center of Joniškis district municipality, known for the fertility of its soil and for the extensive agricultural development in the region.

Jurbarkas region situated on the south west of Lithuania, stretches 70 km (43,5 mi) nestled against Father of Lithuania rivers, the Nemunas, and occupies an area of 1507 sq.km (582 sq.Mi.). Nowadays there are 37000 inhabitants in the region, out of which 14000 live in the town.
The region is famous for its renaissance-style castles, manors and there parks, remained fragments of defensive line of the Nemunas, valuable Panemune landscape, unique cultural treasures.

Kaišiadorys is a town in central Lithuania. It is well-known for its poultry farm. It is located between the two major cities in Lithuania, Vilnius and Kaunas, and therefore enjoys good infrastructure. The Lithuanian Veterinary Institute is located in the town. Kaišiadorys is one of the six Lithuanian diocese centers. The town is home to the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Christ built in 1932.
The town name is interesting because of its Asian origin after a noble Tatar Khaishadar who lived in the area in the 16th century.

Kalvarija is a city in southwestern Lithuania. It is located close to the border with Poland.

Kazlų Rūda is a city in Lithuania. It is located 27 km (17 mi) north from Marijampolė. The city is deep inside the woods.

A railway line crosses the city and divides it into almost equal parts.

Kėdainiai is one of the oldest cities in Lithuania. It is located on the Nevėžis River. First mentioned in the 1372 Livonian Chronicle of Hermann de Wartberge, its population as of 2008 was 30,214. The old town of Kėdainiai dates from the 18th century is one of the largest in Lithuania.|
The city is the administrative centre of the Kėdainiai district municipality. The geographical centre of the Lithuanian Republic is in the nearby village of Ruoščiai, located in the eldership of Dotnuva.

Kretinga is a city in the Klaipėda County, Lithuania. It is the capital of the Kretinga district municipality. It is located 12 km (7.5 mi) east of the popular Baltic Sea resort town of Palanga, and about 25 km (16 mi) north of Lithuania's 3rd largest city and principal seaport, Klaipėda.

The population was listed as 21,423 in the 2001 census. It is the 6th largest city in the ethnographic region of Samogitia and the 18th largest city in Lithuania.

Kuršėnai is the twenty-fifth largest city in Lithuania. It has a unique trait since it is the only city in Lithuania that has two train stations.

Municipality of Lazdijai region is situated in the southernmost corner of this beautiful land of Lithuania, its territory borders with two foreign countries- Belarus and Poland.

The centre of the municipality is Marijampole, the largest town in Suduva (Suvalkija) region. It is the seventh biggest town in Lithuania, the centre of the county situated on both banks of the Sesupe river.

Molėtai is a city in north eastern Lithuania. One of the oldest settlements in Lithuania, it is a popular resort for the inhabitants of Vilnius. As of 2005[update] it had roughly 7,000 inhabitants.

The town is located about 60 km (37 mi) north of Vilnius and 30 km (19 mi) south of Utena. It was first mentioned as a private property of the bishop of Vilnius. In modern times the city has Molėtai Astronomical Observatory, the only such facility in Lithuania.

Neringa municipalities a municipality in westernmost Lithuania, in the Neringa is separated from the mainland Lithuania by Curonian Lagoon which, while there is no bridge, it is still accessible from the mainland by ferry only. The villages in Neringa municipality are Nida, Preila, Pervalka and Juodkrantė. They are tourist resorts and by then it was popular to grant more self government to resorts. The municipality is the only one in Lithuania which is not called after a town or city. The name Neringa was created at Soviet time for the new city municipality, and it derives from a name of girl in legend about the creation of the spit.

Pagėgiai is a city in the south western Lithuania. It is the capital of Pagėgiai municipality, and as such it is part of Tauragė County.

The name of the town literally means "at Gėgė" and it is believed that the Gėgė river once flowed through the town.

Palanga is a seaside resort town in western Lithuania, on the shore of the Baltic Sea. It is the busiest summer resort in Lithuania and has beaches of sand (18 km long and up to 300 m wide) and beautiful sand dunes. In the summer, a multitude of tourists descend on Palanga, both for its beaches and to enjoy the maritime atmosphere. There is a carnival centered on Jonas Basanavičius Street, which is a pedestrian only thoroughfare during the high season. There are dozens of restaurants, bars, rides, and other forms of entertainment. The aforementioned Amber Museum is open to the public, as are as the museum's extensive botanical gardens.

Pasvalys is a city in Panevėžys County, Lithuania located near the bank of the Svalia River.

Plungė is a city in Lithuania with 23,246 inhabitants. It has a crabstick factory which exports to many countries in Europe.

The Prienai region is located in the South of Lithuania. The natural environment is the greatest treasure in the region, which is why the greater part of the territory belongs to the Nemunas Bends Regional Park, the aim of which to preserve scenic valleys, fascinating loops of the river and the surrounding forests.

Radviliskis district is in the North of central Lithuania. Radviliskis district is one of the six districts of Siauliai County situated on its South-eastern part. The total area of the district is 163.5 thous. h a. 49.2 thous. people live in Radviliskis district.

Raseiniai is a city in Lithuania. It is located on the south eastern foothills of the Samogitians highland, some 5 km (3.1 mi) north from the Kaunas–Klaipėda highway.

Rietavas is a city in Lithuania on the Jūra River. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 3,979. It is the capital of Rietavas municipality. The city is famous for building the first power station to produce electricity in Lithuania in 1892. The first telephone line in Lithuania was also built here.

Rokiškis is a city in northeastern Lithuania with population of about 16,000.

Situated on the Daugavpils-Liepaja railroad, during the 19th Century Rokiškis served as a commercial center for a large rural area and a point for the export of wood, grain, and flax. Rokiškis is well-known for its cheese.

Skuodas is a city in the Klaipeda County, northwestern Lithuania, on the border with Latvia. Bartuva flows through the town.

Šakiai is a city in the Marijampolė County, Lithuania. It is located 65 km (40 mi) west of Kaunas. It is presumed that Šakiai first expanded from Šakaičai village. By 1719 a church in Šakiai was built. By the 19th century Šakiai already had city rights; it also had a school, Catholic and Lutheran churches, a synagogue, and a post office. During World War II the city was destroyed by the German army. Among the notable people born there was Zygmunt Kęstowicz, a Polish actor.

Šilutė, previously Šilokarčiama,  is a city in the south of the Klaipėda County, Lithuania. The city was part of the Klaipėda Region and ethnographic Lithuania Minor. Šilutė was the interwar capital of Šilutė County and is currently the capital of Šilutė district municipality.

Tauragė known also by alternate foreign names is an industrial city in Lithuania, and the capital of Tauragė County. In 2005, its population was 28,504. Tauragė is situated on the Jūra River, close to the Russian border of the Kaliningrad Oblast, and not far from the Baltic Sea coast. Notable buildings in the city, include the neo-Gothic Radziwiłł palace - "the castle" (currently housing a school, and the "Santaka" regional museum) and several churches: the Lutheran (built in 1843), the Orthodox (1853), and the Catholic church (1904). A ceramics manufacturing plant operates in the city.

Visaginas is a city with municipal rights in eastern Lithuania, situated near the country's biggest lake, Drūkšiai. Its administrative boundaries are in the process of being defined. The Vilnius–Daugavpils railway runs alongside the town, providing convenient communication with Vilnius and Daugavpils. Motorways connect the town with all other cities in the Republic. The town grew up in a pine forest by Lake Visaginas. Tourism is currently an area of great potential.
